Our Bakery Team work Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 4:30am to 12:30pm.

We are currently looking for a Bakery Assistant to join our existing team of Bakers.

You will be assisting in the bake off of our frozen pasties, sausage rolls, slices, baguettes, bacon and sausage etc for our fleet of mobile retail vans. Once the vans are loaded and on their way, you will then get all the frozen products trayed up as well as helping to make our scrumptious daily specials ready for the following morning.

We don’t work on Bank Holidays and we also have a shut down period over Christmas. We will provide you with the training you need along with your uniform, free parking, 25% staff discount and Company pension scheme. You’ll also receive 28 days holiday per year which includes bank holidays and Christmas.

Having some experience in a similar role is advantageous along with your own transport as public transport does not operate to our location at the start time.

We are currently looking for a Supervisor to join our team, to support and step up in the day to day running of our store within the Sheffield City Centre.

This role is essential in ensuring that the customer’s expectations of food, beverage and services are met, and duties will include assisting with any aspect of the store operation including baking, food preparation, equipment, facilities, health and safety, customer-care and administration.

Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, 5 days, across Monday to Saturday, therefore flexibility is essential.

We are looking for a self-motivated, organised, professional individual, who has lots of personality and enjoys working with team members and most importantly the general public. The store will be welcoming, friendly and fun whilst maintaining the highest standards of food, environment and customer service.

Similar experience in a catering supervisory retail position with key holder responsibilities is essential along with knowledge of cashing up.

Catering Counter Assistant (Term Time) Vacancy

At the Proper Pasty Company, we pride ourselves on providing quality hot and cold food from delicious, in house, produced sandwiches and salad box’s, to freshly baked Proper Cornish Pasties, hot meals and savouries.

We are now seeking a Catering Counter Assistant to work at our site at Leeds University.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm, but on a term time basis.

Duties will include front of house counter service, cash handling and till work therefore you will have excellent customer service skills as you will be representing the company brand at all times. Other duties will include stock rotation, food preparation and pot washing.

Starting rate of pay for this position is £8.21 per hour (for over 21’s). Staff uniform is provided along with a company wide 25% discount on our products and 28 days holiday per year. We also have a Christmas shut down which is usually about 10 days over the festive period.

Kitchen Production Supervisor Vacancy

Due to growth and expansion, we are now seeking an experienced Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our busy food production kitchen.

Successful candidates will have impeccable organisation skills, as this will be key to the successful performance of the kitchen. The main focus of the role will be delivering to specification and brand standards alongside the responsibility of the following duties:

  • Planning of daily workloads and production times, communicating and delegating to the team effectively through engaging and motivational pre-shift briefs
  • Accurate completion of orders plus ensuring all paperwork is finalised to include legislation documents, temperature checks and cleaning schedules
  • Preplanning of stock, managing availability, rotation and ordering
  • Delivery of exemplary food hygiene and health & safety at all times
  • Driving high performance through development of staff and regular, individual one to one meetings
  • Provide a ‘hands on’ approach to ensure timely production, along with ensuring final numbers are achieved and accurate allocation to departments
  • Motivation of team members, visibly ensuring confidence and knowledge is instilled, showing passion for the product and brand
  • Support the General Manager in the recruitment, induction and on boarding of all new staff

For this role, it is essential to possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Proven experience within Catering Supervision
  • Demonstration of supervising and leading teams, driving high performance
  • Knowledge of Time and Motion
  • Extensive knowledge of food hygiene practices and HACCP
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Be self organised with excellent communication skills
  • Food2Go experience would be advantageous

Core hours of work will be 37.5 per week, Sunday to Thursday, however a flexible attitude to manage a variable working pattern is required in order to meet the daily demands of the business.
